She recognizes and understands the importance of advocacy for this population. Alyssa has extensive knowledge of and experience working with individuals with autism. As an undergraduate, Alyssa worked at the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support for four years. She started as a one-on-one support member and ultimately became a case manager responsible for her own client. Her passion for helping those who live with or are affected by Autism has been a passion since volunteering with the Special Olympics as a teenager. Alyssa is formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which focuses on the connection between the client’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
