Dr. Kaitlyn Lavey is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, having earned her Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) degree from George Washington University in 2022. Prior to graduate school, she earned Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Lavey completed her predoctoral internship at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital (GPPH), a state inpatient psychiatric facility in New Jersey. At this facility, Dr. Lavey provided individual and group psychotherapy to adults experiencing severe mental illness, including schizophrenia, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and suicidality. Dr. Lavey also conducted psychological evaluations related to diagnostic clarification, violence risk, emotional/personality functioning, and cognition/memory. She also consulted with other professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors to advocate for patients and ensure continuity of care. She completed her post-doctoral residency at Newtown Therapy & Wellness Center under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Shipley. Dr. Lavey has experience in providing therapy and psychological evaluations to adolescents through other predoctoral practicum placements.

Dr. Lavey is especially interested in treating persistent mental health challenges, such as personality issues, long standing depression/anxiety, and relational trauma. Never alone, always together, Dr. Lavey views therapy as a joint endeavor. She prioritizes meeting clients where they are and allowing them to guide the treatment. Dr. Lavey strives to empower clients to make changes in their lives by challenging unhealthy patterns and exploring underlying emotions, which may contribute to how they see themselves, others, and the world. Dr. Lavey also embraces the intersectionality of identities when relating to clients and selecting evidence-based interventions.

Dr. Lavey is accepting adult and adolescent therapy clients. She is also available for psychological and psychoeducational evaluations.


Dr. Lavey’s rate is $170/hr
