Stephani is both a masters level counselor as well as a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Rider University. She completed the majority of her internships at Princeton House Behavioral Health in Princeton, New Jersey. She gained experience working with adults, adolescents and children. She has worked both inpatient programs as well as intensive and partial hospitalization out-patient programs.
Steph specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Her main areas of treatment include: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, relationship difficulties, gender identity disorders and sexual orientation development. She often uses body-based practices and mindfulness throughout the therapeutic journey. She emphasizes the importance of creative arts and using movement as a form of expression and communication. Her person-centered approach varies depending on the needs and experiences of the individual.
Steph is trained in dance/movement therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, and group therapy. She highlights the importance of the therapist-client relationship and creating a safe space throughout the healing journey.
