Stephanie Vassallo, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Pennsylvania. Stephanie graduated from Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and earned a Masters in Social Work from Widener University. Postgraduate training includes a certificate from Bryn Mawr College where she studied the therapeutic process in depth.
Stephanie has worked in the field of mental health for 19 years and has a strong understanding of all major mental health disorders and the struggles associated with the symptoms of such disorders for the individuals and families involved. Stephanie worked in two practicum settings including a partial hospitalization program for adults suffering from severe mental health disorders and another where she counseled students at The University of Pennsylvania. Some of Stephanie’s other work experiences were at inpatient settings such as Fairmount Behavioral Health in Philadelphia, Pa; Princeton House in Princeton, NJ and most recently at Aria Hospital in the Behavioral Health Center for Older Adults. Stephanie works with clients ages 18 and over and has additional specialized training in geriatric behavioral concerns including Cognitive Disorders and has a deep understanding of the associated phenomenon of caregiver burden.
In addition, Stephanie understands that many people do not suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder and just need an objective, knowledgeable and understanding person to help guide them to cope through difficult transitions and relational issues that affect most people at some point in the constantly changing life cycle. Stephanie considers each individual’s environment including but not limited to social, economic, familial, spiritual and physical aspects of a person’s life and all systems that surround them and seeks to help each client navigate and fit in these systems to the best of their ability. To name a few, Stephanie uses validation, mindfulness and empowerment techniques to help clients reach their personal goals once the goals have been collaboratively determined with the client.
Ultimately, Stephanie hopes to help clients find balance within and around them as well as achieve heightened awareness of themselves and their strengths.
Stephanie’s fee is $110 per session. She also accepts Cigna, Medicare & United Health Care
